How does AD lotio® Chronic Work:
AD lotio® Chronic contains the natural, hydrating factor, urea in a 3% concentration and ideally contains approx. 30% lipids. It further contains the anti-microbial component (octenidine). The regular supply of urea to the skin improves its hydration and hence reduces dryness. The product also contains a higher proportion of lipid components, which form a natural, occlusive, protective film on the skin. The product can also be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women and children of all ages. It can be used for newborns.

How does Urea Work?
Urea is a physiological part of the skin and sweat. The content of urea in the skin (normal: 1.0 -1.4 g/100g dry weight) is drastically reduced in atopic eczema, psoriasis and aging. The result is a reduced ability to bind keratin with water. Urea is a natural hydrating factor of the keratin layer, epidermis. It has a hygroscopic (water binding) effect and it influences the binding of water on intracellular proteins. Its effect is evident in the refinement of skin relief and in soothing the skin’s surface. As a physiological agent, it has almost no side effects and can safely be used on the youngest children.
